YOUR IMPACT
Where your gift goes.
Our constitution requires every penny the club receives to be spent on padel in the University. Gifts make the greatest difference in three areas.
01
Equipment
Rackets and balls for training and taster sessions, so that cost is never the reason a student does not try padel. A good shared set of rackets matters more with every new intake of players.
02
Court time and coaching
Court hire for weekly training and Cuppers, and qualified coaching to help our players improve. Every coach who works with the club must be properly qualified and insured.
03
Travel and competition
Transport to league match days, and the costs of the Varsity Match against Cambridge, home or away. Help with travel means selection depends on ability, not on who can afford the journey.
Because the club is young, gifts made now go a long way. They help to establish the things older clubs take for granted: a proper set of equipment, a settled weekly programme, and the means to send Oxford’s best pairs to every fixture. A gift today helps to build the club that future students will inherit.
WAYS TO GIVE
Become a founding supporter.
Every gift makes a difference. These suggested levels can be given once or every year. With your permission, we will thank our first supporters by name as founding supporters of the club.
Gifts of any amount are welcome. The levels are suggestions, not membership fees, and giving does not make you a member of the club.
HOW TO GIVE
Making a gift.
Email the Treasurer and we will reply with the club’s bank details, then confirm when your gift arrives.
The club holds its own bank account in its name, and we do not publish payment details online. Write to our Treasurer, Michael Donaghey, at michael.donaghey@seh.ox.ac.uk, or to the club at oxforduniversitypadel@gmail.com. Let us know whether you would like to give once or every year, and how you would like to be thanked.
Every gift is recorded in the club’s accounts. If you would like to support a particular part of the club’s work, such as equipment, travel or the Varsity Match, tell us and we will direct your gift there. The President would be glad to talk to anyone considering a larger gift.
Our constitution allows the club’s income and property to be used only to support padel in the University. If the club were ever wound up, its assets would pass to the University, to be used for padel or other student sport.
FOR BUSINESSES
Partner with Oxford padel.
We are looking for a small number of partners who share our enthusiasm for padel: equipment and kit brands, venues, and businesses that want to reach students across Oxford’s colleges.
Part of the founding story
The club was founded in 2025. A partner who joins us now is part of its first chapter, and will be recognised as such for as long as the partnership runs.
Visibility
Your name and logo on our website, match-day teamsheets and social media, and a presence at taster sessions, Cuppers and the Varsity Match.
Oxford, in competition
Our pairs represent Oxford in the National University Padel League, where two of our men’s pairs qualified for the 2026 National Finals, and every year the club plays Cambridge in the Varsity Match.
Kit in players’ hands
Put your rackets, balls or clothing in the hands of Oxford players, from first-time beginners to league pairs.
Every partnership is shaped around the partner, and we are happy to talk about what would work for you. Any agreement worth more than £1,000 is approved formally by the committee, as our constitution requires, and all sponsorship is recorded in the club’s accounts. We never share members’ personal details with partners.
ALUMNI AND FRIENDS
Stay in touch.
Leaving Oxford does not mean leaving the club. We keep a list of former members and friends of the club, and at least once a year we write to everyone on it with news of the season, an invitation to the Varsity Match and, afterwards, the result.
If you played for the club, helped to run it, or simply want to follow Oxford padel, email us with your name, your college and your years at Oxford, and we will add you to the list. Former officers are recorded, season by season, on our Roll of Honour.
